Nevertheless, it seems that anyone (which is to say, everyone) who has ever used a computer has come across some sort of difficulty. Whether its the computer freezing, the monitor turning colors, or the mouse not tracking, everyone has experienced some sort of problem while utilizing a pc. The campus of Dixie State alone boasts over 1600 com- puter work stations, the majority of these a type of Gateway Pentium PC. With this staggering number of computer terminals available for student and faculty use, the amount of problems that arise is incredible. The show begins as Molly Tobin (Suzie Balser) chases her brothers around the stage and sings about how she wants to learn to read and write and marry someone rich in the enthusiastic opener I Aint Down Yet. She decides that she has had enough of being poor and off to Denver, heads Colorado, to find a husband. During a stop in Leadville, she gets a job as a singer in a bar where she meets JJ Brown (Christian Whelan). JJ is instantly smitten with the fiery young woman and, though she is a little leery of him, Molly is attracted to him too. JJs only flaw is that he is not rich. He continues to pursue her although she resists his advances, but he eventually wins her over through the romantic song Ill Never Say No. They marry, and through his remarkable good luck JJ sells his claim and presents his new bride with three-hundre- d thousand dollars as a wedding present. Mollys luck is not quite so good. She hides the money in their stove without telling her husband. Later that evening, when he comes home and lights a fire, he destroys their new riches. Once agam, JJ heads out in search of gold for Molly and comes back with lots of money. They move to Denver where the local high society shuns Molly because of her crude manners. Packing their bags, they head to Europe to become educated. While there, they come into contact with royalty who see MOLLY page 14 |
