Show 8 SPORTS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, 2003 THE VOICE OF DIXIE STATE COLLEGE OF UTAH DIXIE SUN Rebels blow out Pima over weekend The DSC soccer team swept its opponent last weekend in Mesa by Ben Coltrin Dixie Sun Staff Writer The Dixie State defense, anchored by goalkeeper Suzy Hunt, shut out both of its opponents last weekend in Mesa, Ariz The Rebels routed the Pima Storm of Tucson Friday in Mesa (8-3- ) 10-- 0 Pima shots Hunt saves was held to four goal on the day, and Suzy had two outstanding for the Rebels Tara Castelh led the way offensively with three goals and one assist Cami Drecksel chipped in two goals and two assists Julianne Hendriksen added two goals, and Laura Goodrich led the team in assists Friday with four Julee Russell, Rebecca and Peterson, Linda Huddleston Our game plan is to emphasize team play, and the girls are doing really well. The Rebels pulled off a victory in overtime to wrap up the road trip, with Laura Goodrich scoring the gamewinning goal. DSC has been on the road in Arizona and California all month long, and continue the trend this weekend in Santa Rosa, Calif. They return to Utah on October 3 to play Utah Valley State College in Orem.
