Show WEI 2 Campus News THE SUN t 'Mks Continued from page 1... h 1 1 1 20, 200; Jo) Spt Special to the Sun Guitarist, singer and songwriter, Kenneth Cope, was the honorary chairman for this years Robert N. and Peggy Sears Dixie Invitational Art Show Gala Dinner. Cope, a noted sacredinspirational and contemporary singer and songwriter, provided entertainment and remarks throughout the evening of Friday, Feb. 15, beginning at 6 pm in the Gardner Center Ballroom at Dixie State College. Cope received critical acclaim with his 1989 release of Greater Than Us All, an album that remains a Songs like His Hands and Never A Better Hero have become classics. After a number of other sacredinspirational albums. Cope tried his hand as a contemporary singersongwriter, which resulted in the critically acclaimed contemporary top-sell- i Vote for the next Student body president at Dixie album Stories from Edens Garden. He was the recipient of 5 PEARL Awards in 1999, including Male Vocalist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Contemporary Song of the Year (Edens Garden), Contemporary Album of the Year and Album of the Year, all awarded by the Faith Centered Music Association (FCMA). In addition, he has received the LDS Booksellers Association Listeners Choice Award for Best Male Vocalist in 1994, 1995 and 1996. In 1999, Cope returned to the sacredinspirational genre and has recently ventured into the world of film scoring as a writer and producer. Tickets for the Gala Dinner were $75 a plate or $600 for a table of eight, of which $50 per ticket may be applied to any art purchase made at the show. Dinner guests were the first to view and have the opportunity to buy this years artwork. Nearly 200 works representative of over 100 artists are expected to be part of this years show. The show was on display through Sunday, Mar. 17 at Dixie States Cox Auditorium. A portion of each purchase went towards the construction of a new fine arts facility, something that has always been done with the proceeds from the show. Because of discrimination lawsuits some agencies and companies will only accept applications, no resumes at all will be accepted. So you should ask if they accept resumes. More and more companies are going to on line resumes and applications. If you don't have a resume at least take with you a "MASTER APPLICATION". That's a sheet with all your important information on it. Your past work history and references that can be contacted. If you have no visited the Career Center, come in so that we can get you registered in the Dept. Of Workforce Services data base so that you can recieve notices in the mail of available jobs. We also can provide you with information on companies in the area.
