This council can then increase school spirit by working together. Community involvement: Plan on working closely with the mayor of St. George and its City Council in order to create better relations between Dixie State College and the city of St. George. Academics: Plan on involving more students with the Student Advisory Committee (SAC) in order to create better ideas on how to improve Dixie State College Spirit: Jake and Jake Jake Dedding and Jake Hunt Platforms: Plan on raising funds in order to establish lights on Encampment Mall, causing more events to take place during the evening hours. Plan a consecutive weekly activity to entertain Dixie State College students. (i.e., dating games, stomps, movie nights) Plan meet the athlete nights in order to create more school spirit. Plan on increasing school spirit. Plan to establish good relationships between the stu- dents and the college administration. Plan on increasing school spirit by involving the Booster Club, the athletes, and the community. Community Involvement: Plan on increasing school and community involvement by implementing effective communications and starting a big brother, big sister program. Plan on motivating students by recognizing Academics: their accomplishments by offering awards such as dinners and gift certificates, and by publishing their names in the local and school newspapers. Spirit: Feature Page in order to create better relations within the community and the college. Academics: Look into the possibility of lowering student GPA requirements, which take more than 15 credit hours in order to keep scholarships. This could thereby allow students to take more credit hours without the fear of losing their scholarships due to lack of meeting GPA requirements.
