Why did it have to wait an extra 25 years: Why were Utahns overjoyed when they were finally allowed to become a state? Was Utah really all that different from Nevada, Wyoming, Colorado or the rest . of the West? What should Utahns know about their state to enjoy this coming centennial celebration? Dixie College invites students to celebrate Utah's Centennial intelligently by examining the state's history. At 11 a.m. daily in the library during winter quarter. Dr. Douglas D. Alder will teach a course on Utah history. The text will be a new book that has just appeared for the Centennial: Utah, The Right Place by Dr. Thomas G. Alexander. Supplementary material will also be used from the forthcoming history of Washington County authored by Alder and Dr. Karl Brooks. Students can register for the class at winter quarter under the number History 166 (5 credits). Interested residents are welcome to audit the class. The play will premier Nov. 29 at p.m. and run through Dec. 2. It will also play Dec. 8, 9 and De 16 at 8 p.m. There will also be a 2 matinee on Dec. 16.
