The battle between staying on the quarter system or changing to the semester system has been a topic of discussion since 1985. In 1985, the Utah State Board of Regents asked every d Utah institution to study both the quarter and semester systems' advantages and disadvantages. This same discussion has come up again in which all Utah state funded schools might be changed to the semester academic calendar. "This is the largest issue that is facing students across the state," Associated Students of Dixie College President Jeff Hall said. Currently the only two institutions in Utah that are on the semester program are Brigham Young University and Utah Valley State College. UVSC Please see SEMESTER, Page 7 Advertise for free! "I wanted to make these boards bigger, better and more accessible," ASDC President Jeff Hall said. The travel board is a map of Utah and the surrounding states. On the sides of the map taped cards will be placed under categories of Northern Utah, Salt Lake, Central Utah, Idaho, Ariz., Wyo, Colo., N.M. and Nev. The travel board can be used by drivers placing a taped card on the travel board stating the date and time of departure, name, destination and telephone number for contact.
