His degrees are in vocal performance and he also has credentials in music. He has a background in music and political science. Before coming to Dixie, Professor Wilcott taught high school choral music in Bakersfield, California for the past ten years. Previous to his California receiving teaching credential, in 1976, Professor Wilcott spent two years as a freelance opera performer in the Orange County area of Southern California. Though Professor Wilcott did well as an opera singer, he desired the stability of the teaching profession. Professor Wilcott enjoys the great symphonic works and performing art songs. Professor Wilcott will be an asset to our music department and very helpful to all students that are enrolled in his classes. With his direction, we will have a great choral department. Hike Scheduled for Saturday On Saturday, October 4th, Bart Anderson will be taking anyone who is interested on an exciting Petroglyphs Hike. The group will be meeting at the Arts Center in St. George on 86 South and Main at 8:00 a.m. The event is free, and you are advised to bring a lunch and something to drink. |
