It will eventually become the centerpiece for displaying the artifacts collection. Dr. and Mrs. Gregory Crampton, of Bloomington, met with college Director of Program Development Dr. George Rampton, and Bill Murphy of the college Maintenance Department, to view the beautiful refurbished table, built of worm-eaten cedar. admired Mr. Murphys refinishing job, Dr. Crampton explained that the table had been acquired by his family many years ago from an expert cabinet maker, Andrew Mann, of Delhi, California. As they Dr. Cramptons parents at that time operated a roadside trading post on U.S. Highway 99, and the table was used to show Indian art and artifacts that were on display for sale to the public. Dr. Crampton smilingly remarked, If I had knows it was going to be this beautiful I may not have given it to the college. I am grateful it has been restored and brought back to this better than new Career Day Generates Although the workshops and activities of Career Day 1983 ended on February 8, 1983, feedback and opinions continue to be generated from those hight schools that participated in this activity. A total of 918 high school students represented the 16 schools invited to attend. In addition, several hundred Dixie College students took part in the days activities. Surveys were sent to each of the 16 schools with 14 of the 16 responding. Comments concerning the program ranged from An excellent activity and A worthwhile experience" to We had a hard time keeping track of the students. The comments and responses were generally positive and excellent, stated Clayton for this Farnsworth, activity. Most of the schools stated they would like to be invited back next year. t. efforts. About 600 of the 2,000 students who registeres for Fall Quarter at Dixie College has undeclared or unknown majors and it is the hope that Career Day will benefit the students, at the college, that fall in those two categories. There were 110 different activities scheduled, and 100 consultants and teachers who volunteered their time and condition. Rebels of the week Lori Wilkinson and the activities committee have been chosen the Rebels of the Week for the outstanding job they have done in planning this years activities. The committe has planned several activities, including the recent dance honoring the baseball team, midnight movies, and the Christmas week festivities, and are now working on preparations. In the spring, the committee will plan such activities as the March of Dimes Week, the mr.
