Show o Great Race Preparations Underway Preparations are underway for the Great Race, a very popular feature activities. of the annual Teams, made up of Dixie College students, should be organizing now so as to be ready for this highly competitive, fun, and strenuous race of champions. Each Great Race team is comprised of 8 members : a motorcyclist, an uphill runner, a miler, a horse rider, a downhill runner, a river Friday, March Dixie College, St. George, Utah 84770 VOLUME XVI - Number 10 runner (with tube), a bicyclist, and a sprinter. Last years winning team, spon- sored by the college bookstore, won the race in record time. This years competition, which offers a $200.00 cash prize for the winners, promises to be a spirited effort to beat last years record. All those interested in participating should contact Paul Reber or Brian Hardy at Dixie College for information on entry forms. O.C. Tanner Amphitheater sign completed 11, 1983 Voice Master Class Scheduled A Voice Master class and workshop for all interested persons will be held at Dixie College April 1 3, 14 and 15, 1983 featuring Thojmas Houser, tenor, a graduate of' the Peabody Conservatory of Music. Mr. Houser has studied at the j Academia Musicale, gymnasium. Two sessions will be held April 13th from 11:00 to 12:30 and from 8 :00 p.m. to 9 :30 p.m. on the 14th, the third session convenes at 11:00 a.m. all 3 to be held in Room 124 of the Fine Arts Center. The Final , chigiana, Siena, Italy and has studied with such outstanding teachers as Harriet Zercher, Elazabeth Valdes, Tito Schipa, Gilda Della Rizza and Alec Torber. His versatility as a vocalist has been demonstrated in opera, oratorio, and art song. His unique lecture recitals combine art, literature, and song, and have further emphasized his musical and artistic resources. Mr. Houser is the innovator of Explorations in Singing, an series of workshops and master classes that integrate body awareness and movement with vocal exciting technique and repertoire. Professional and Europe singers in the U.S. as well as teachers at music conservatories, colleges and universities, study with him at his private voice studios in New York City and in Pennsylvania. The Dixie College workshop sessions will include lectures and discussions on the technique of singing as well as a workshop in body to be held in the awareness, session, on April 15, will be held from 2 :00 to 4 :00 p.m. in the Rebel Gym. Tanner Amphitheatre, in Springdale. The sign is part of a project at the am- Near Zion National Park that includes the installation of 500 metal folding seats, road grading and oiling, a projection and lighting booth, an orchestra shell and a giant projection screen.
