College students are admitted free. The Director of the Choir is Dr. Paul Concordia College, Christiansen, Moorhead, Minnesota, the son of the renowned F. Melius Christiansen. The group of 66 singers won wide acclaim on tours of Norway. Holland, Germany and Austria with who will perform February 21 , at 8:00 p.m. a special concert at Brussels Worlds Fair and the Vienna Music Festival. The choir has performed in Norway and Europe and will return to Norway in May of 1983. They have also toured the nation and will be appearing in a number of major cities this season. The tour for 1983 takes the group through Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Oregon, California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota. Singing a capella, the choir will Money Magic Lecture Series Car Ownership Lecture Presented Car Ownership: Status or Transportation will be the subject of this Thursdays free Money Magic lecture series held at 7:00 p.m. in Room 113 of the Home Economics building at Dixie College. This Thursdays speaker will be Larry Bond, USU extension economic specialist. Mr. Bond is consumer problems, budgeting, and family economics. The series is cosponsored by the Utah State University Extension Service and Dixie College. of the The Language Arts Department urges students to enter the Annie Atkin Tanner Poetry contest held annually at Dixie College. The Poetry Contest awards consist of two scholarships: one for full tuition, the other for $100 dollars. The applicant must turn in four to five poems consisting of 10 to 20 lines each. Please turn in all contest material to Mr. Pilkington in the LA Building before February 14th. The deadline for turning in poetry for the Southern Quill poetry Magazine for Dixie College, will be February 22. In its years of concertizing, the Concordia Choir has been lauded from coast to coast as one of the foremost American choral groups. Critics have remarked concerning the subtle perfection, the sheer beauty, and the incredibly fine tone quality of the choir. The European tours were no less triumphal. The critics and press of all countries were unanimous in their praise of these musicians. This enthusiasm has been substantiated by critics from New York to San Francisco in the years since. Denise is a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School. She participated in Choir and FHA, and was a member of the drill team while in high school. At Dixie this year, she serves as historian of Phi Theta Kappa (National Honor Society), and is also on the AWS Committee. She was also a member of last years Mothers Weekend Committee. Denise, a sophomore here at Dixie, is a Computer Science major. After graduating from Dixie this spring, she plans to attend Utah State University.
