Rebel Awards The annual Rebel Awards night at Dixie College was held Wednesday, May 15 to honor students for their achievements and contributions during the academic year. The outstanding student award was given to Roger Nuttall, 1973-7student body president at Dixie. This award was pre4 sented View From The Deans Office In my opinion this has been the greatest year in Dixie ColOur Executive lege history. Council has been outstanding and they have received loyal by Dixie College President Ferron C. Losee. Howard Putnam, assistant professor of music, was named the "Teacher of the Year" at the program. Division awards r were made to Susan Milne in the natural Brenda Gubler in sciences, social sciences, and Gary Gott in humanities. Scott Gubler was named the outstanding freshman man, and Kathy Cannon was picked as the outstanding freshman Woman. The outstanding male athlete of the year selected was Gary Barber, and JoEllen Boswell was named the outstanding female athlete. Keren Leavitt was given the Dixie Spirit Award, and a special service award was given to Randi Garner. Dena Bowler was the recipient of the Tanner Literary Awaid, new this year. The outstanding sophomore woman award was made to Loraine Olsen. Roger Nuttall was named the outstanding sophomore man. Newly elected student body officers received the oath of office to function immediately in their new posts. Scott Gubler is the new student body presi- dent. Our Athletic Department has had a very good year and although they did not win any conference titles they have been very competitive in all events. I think that the caliber of our President Views n V, a Tii'yar- A- a Rodeo Team Takes First Place The Dixie College Men's first place took Team Rodeo at honors over the weekend in Grove competition Pleasant with colleges from Utah and of conflicting emotions . . . . happiness and sadness; satisfactions and distress; the excitement and anticipation of future new experiences, yet the dewhich pression accompanies leaving old friends and the college which most Dixie students hold dear. As president of this small but unique institution I have always felt similar conflicting emotions. Although it is not my privilege to know each student on a one to one basis, there does exist their locality which is attended by member teams from the Utah-Idah- o region. We all enjoy the feeling of loyalty toward each other and the institution. We know this "Spirit of Dixie" is a real thing and, best of all, it doesn't fade away.
