Our green and white will mean That were loyal, staunch and true, Best Second years yet seen, We, the class of 22. Maurine Whipple. FIRST YEAR NOTES That lively bunch who call themselves Freshies have begun the school year with a full portion of earnestness and activity. We have a fine class organization. Energetic Joe Ray, who is also the D. N. C. Athletic Manager, with vivacious Gertrude McGregor to assist him is the President of our class. We have a treasure and Secretary in Zelda Nelson. Howard Millers efforts will prove what the first years are good for along the lines of argument. As to sports, the athletic side of the class will be managed by Rul-o- n Stucki. We also have a committee of amusements which consists of Spencer Snow, Lee Esplin and Verna Cox. As class Daddy, all the other classes envy us Mr. Hall, and who could be a sweeter mother than Miss Thurston ? With such a ccflmpetent set of officers we feel assured of success and high honors to be attained during the ensuing year. Our first class party was given Saturday night, Oct. 18, in the Auditorium. Due to illness, the chairman of the amusement committee was unable to attend, but what one cant think of for amusements, can, and our class was proved to possess those qualities which are so striking in American Soldiers, that is, ability to go ahead in the absence of a leader. Dancing and games were indulged in, after which punch and cake were enjoyed by all. Some of our class musicians furnished music, and there was a liberal sprinkling of songs throughout the evening.
