| Show PHOENIX construction OFFICIALS VISIT CITY during the week a party of aromi alt gentlemen associated with the phoenix hoeni construction company made a tour of inspection ot the tower line through bear river valley and spent some time in brigham city the party was headed by sir mr sidney machell MH chell genev genel laj head of iffie he company mr air J D evans construction manager W C hebard general superintendent of construction and the balance of 0 the party was composed or 0 several new york bankers who are interested in the bonds ot of the C company om and a number ot of prominent salt lake gentlemen the work being done in this county Is the replacing ot of the pole transmission una line which h carries the electrical current from the bear river canyon on to salt lake with steel el towers the line has been changed from along the foot hills bills to run west of this city and one thousand men arre are at work ork setting the cement bases and assembling the towers ready for erection about half of that number being engaged in this county this new line will connect with a similar one coming on from idaho and will be part of the system operated by the utah power light company the big corporation which recently took over practically all the private electric power plants in utah and idaho the construction work has been about one third completed ted in this county the camp bebing now out ou near judge cal calls Is farm this side of corinne As quickly as the cement work is corn com plated the assembled towers will bo be reared and bolted to the foundations then the work of stringing the wires will commence the company is maintaining a large office force in this city to look after the necessities of the camp in this county and both the office and camp are veritable hires of industry the visiting officials who went over the route this week were well pleased with fill the progress being made |
