from state officials Tuesday at the Westin Hotel Utah at a luncheon designed to kick off the second Summer Games which are scheduled June 7 in Cedar City Dave Adams Director of the Department of Community and Economic Development said the Summer Games helped convince state officials to form an office of Sports Development Adams said the Summer Games also helped pave the way for the highly successful Winter Games which were held for the first time in early January along the Wasatch Front The Summer Games Foundation g has also sponsored several events at Southern Utah State College’s new Centrum facility e These included the Utah NBA and basketball game preseason a match featuring the United States women's volleyball team against Japan Other events associated with the Summer Games
