From that time on my son has not spoken to his father. I would appreciate it if you would say something in your column about the propriety of a father telling his son to shut up. My husbands hearing problem is bad only when he is in the house. I should also tell you the man is very tricky. He can be on the porch when I am in the dinette talking on the phone and 10 minutes later he can tell me every word I said. Disconnected Dear Wires: I believe the problem in your home has very little to do with hearing. Its about feelings. The hostility between that boy and his father is enormous and your relationship with your husband wouldnt win any prizes either. I recommend family counseling. On each page of the notebook, I list in order the items I tend to buy in each aisle of the store. On shopping day, I transfer those marked items to a list which I take to the store, adding any special extra things I may need. Youve very welcome! Besides ing delicious, this mix is a real money-slots less expensive than the aver, boxed mixes you buy. And, since the necessary ingredients are usually on hand in ones cupboard, you can quickly mix up more when needed without having to make a trip to the store. If you havent made biscuits from this recipe, give it a try. Dear Heloise: When I wanted to use my new springform pan I found that, try as I might, I was unable to close the spring on the side that locks the bottom of the pan into place. After several unsuccessful attempts, I put on my thinking cap. I reasoned that cold shrinks and heat expands so I put the bottom of the pan into the freezer and the collar in a pan of hot water. After a few minutes, I was able to close the spring very easily and the Virbottom was snugly in place. ginia Rose DEAR HELOISE: House work is something you do that nobody notices unless you dont do it. Of all the thousands (millions?) of words of wisdom you have passed along through the years, this may be the greatest educational service you have performed. I hope and pray that by this mans confession, his own healing has begun. By educating millions, only heaven knows how much good will come out of that column. Thanks, Ann, for being the vessel that God has used to help so many. I hope you live long and your wisdom continues to serve mankind well. Industry, Calif. Dear Industry: Thank you for your generous comments. I had a tremendous number of responses to that rapists letter. Allowing him to express himself in my column was, I believe, useful. He needed a forum as well as some guidance. By giving him both, I hope I helped. Dear Ann Landers: My neighbor is very friendly. She comes over here and visits for long periods of time.
