Chances are parents are buying the units, called rebounders, for their children for Christmas. Its such a waste, says Karol Truman. Parents are the very people who could get the most good from one. Mrs. Truman, Orem, has been bouncing, twisting, selling and writing about rebounders for several years. She has used her unit to improve her health, figure and eyesight. The selling of the units, a husband and wife venture, has undoubtedly improved the condition of the couples bank account as well. Rebounding, according to Mrs. Truman, does for everyone the same thing that jogging, running and aerobic dancing does, with the plus of never having to leave home. Cost for all this conditioning is the price of a rebounding unit Lack Of Interest Mrs. Truman attributes parents and others lack of interest in re-a bounding to improve health, to the ' fact there is nothing available on the - market to show and tell people how to use one. She hopes to change all that Mrs. Truman has written a book Kuhn about rebounding. Its entitled, Good Feeling Great, Olympus Distributing, $5.95. The reader will learn how to lose weight forever without torture; bounce away a pressure-fille- d day, find arthritic relief; kill an appetite without drugs or physical risk; exercise when pregnant, if handicapjed or elderly and increase stamina and endurance for sports conditioning. The program she has outlined requires just 15 minutes per day. Her expertise on the subject has been garnered through a trial and success method that she has perfected over several years. It all started when she began selling the units. It didnt occur to her then that she should use one. She describes herself then as being much like the majority of people, today -aware of the need for exercise, but unable to stick with a program. Mrs. Truman also suffered from Looking r -- , - the resuit of an varicose veins automobile accident that left her paralyzed for two days. When I got the use of my legs back, the black, bulging veins were there. She lived with the veins for a number of years. Had A Purpose It was while she was deciding whether the rebounding units had a purpose other than play, and her friend, Lt Col. Carolyn Reinbold, a retired Air Force physical therapist, was visiting, that the two of them saw the units value. Together the two worked out a program for Mrs. Truman and she began to devote time to the rebounder each day. Within a few weeks, my clothes began to feel more loose. I started losing weight and feeling so much better. I was happy to give up trips to the schools track. Finding time to work on the unit is easier because you dont have to leave home. The real bonus was that the varicose veins began to change color. The physical activity improved my circulation. As my circulation improved, the veins changed from black to pink. I still have varicose veins, but they are much less noticeable, they no longer bulge and there is no pain. She sold a unit to a woman friend, who was a size 16. She cut out all junk food and worked on the unit every day for four months. In those four months, she lost 42 pounds and more than 30 inches. She was a happy woman. Why and how does rebounding work? Mrs. Truman has it figured out She explained that When we rebound, we increase the pull of gravity on our bodies. As a result the gravitational forces condition, tone and strengthen each body cell. The same thing would happen if we just jumped up and down, but that would cause much greater wear and tear on our bodies.
