Holiday callers normally receive a 40 percent discount . This year callers will receive a 60 percent cut usually offered weekend callers. We expect a lot of Christmas callers to take advantage of this rate, said Ken Hill, public real-tiomanager of Mountain Bell in Utah. He said the busiest time will be from 10 to 11 a m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Christmas Day. He suggested placing calls before 8 a.m. or from noon to 5 p.m. Christmas Day. He added that if the circuits are busy, callers should try again and not ask operators to place the call for them. County Clerk Jay Hirschi said organizers needed 1,501 names to meet the requirement of 5 percent of the registered voters who voted in the last gubernatorial election in each of at least 15 Utah counties.
