Show BABY-WEEK CAMPAIGN CAM-PAIGN IS STARTED tJ. A. C. Will Play Imporant Part in Movement. The department of home economics econ-omics of the Extension Division of the Utah Agricultural College, under the supervision of Miss Gertrude McChey-ne, McChey-ne, is preparing to co-operate with the various home economic associations throughout the State ln arranging a baby week campaign, to become part of the national baby week campaign which will be conducted the first week in May. A These baby week campaigns are the result of the development of a profound and growing interest in the welfare of babies.. They have been held for several years and have marked mark-ed a. steady improvement in conditions surrounding the infant. Their purpose pur-pose is two-fold first.to give to the parents of a community the opportunity opportuni-ty of learning the facts with regard to the care of their babies, including especially es-pecially the feeding and clothing of infants: second, to make known to a community the importance of its babies, ba-bies, the special facts relating to the babies of the community, and the need of permanent work for their welfare. The Extension Division of the College Col-lege is urging that as many of the local organizations of the State as possible, conduct such baby campaigns. Literature Lit-erature has been prepared conveying suggestions for such campaigns for communities of various sizes and this will be sent to those organizations applying. The Utah State Board of Health will also co-operate with the local organization by supplying lectures lec-tures and lantern slides. |
