Presidency of Mexico Since the Downfall of the Diaz Dictatorship Dictator-ship in 1911. El Paso, Texas. Francisco Villa has proclaimed himself in charge of the presidency of Mexico. This was announced an-nounced in a telegram from General Villa received Wednesday night by his agents here. Villa appointed three ministers to take charge of the civil government. The northern chieftain, by its act, becomes the tenth man to assume the provisional presidency of Mexico since the downfall of the Diaz dictatorship in 1911. He gave as his reason for assuming the office that his force had been separated from the convention headed by Roque Gonzales Garza, as provisional president, who left with the Zapata forces when they departed south from Mexico City at its occupation occupa-tion recently by Obregon's Carranza troops. |
