Show FARM DEMJ.liLUTGR'S LETTER As I expressed through the press some time ago, it is the sincere desire of many people, in fact we may say all the people of Carbon and Emery counties, coun-ties, that we have a conjoint County Fair again this year. We should make an excellent display, an admirable showing this year because we have had the experience of the past two years to aid us in many ways this year. I have been and am consulting the officials of each county concerning the County Fair and if they can give us a little assistance in a financial way, and with the hearty support that they, the City of Price, corporations of the county coun-ty and individuals will give us as they have in the past we will have a grand Fair. Farmers, who have not already begun be-gun to get their animals and farm products pro-ducts shaped towards this end kindly do so as we need the cooperation of all. Without exhioits there would be no Fair. The officers have not yet been decided on definitely, but we have begun the work on the Fair and hope to have all in readiness so the premium book will come out early this season. Tomorrow I leave for the Extension meetings at the Agricultural colle.ee at Logan. I may b. home again not lat r than the 13th, and possibly not until i the latter part of this month. I beg of all who are doing cooperative work with me to continue their work, follow the tests up closely, and if possible, let us get some more excellent results this year. I am sending out among the people of both counties circulars of the Canadian Cana-dian Thistle. This is one of the worst weeds we have in Eastern Utah. Don't l . . allow this awful pest to spread in your fields. Look at and study these circulars posted up in public places and let us all take upon ourselves the resoonsibility of helping to destroy, to erradicate this terrible menace. If anyone should care to communicate with me during my absence from the counties kindly write me at Wellsville, Cache County, Utah, (in care of Nellie Haslami. I would again advise harrowing our grain and potato fields after these rains to keep the crust broken, to conserve the precipitation moisture, and to make the plants stool well. Very respectfully, ROBERT H. STEWART, Carbon & Emery Farm Demonstrator, Agent U. S. Department of Agriculture. |
