Mrs. Alice Lamph of Hiawatha is visiting with local relatives while taking tak-ing the teachers exam. She has been tentatively engaged to teach in the local schools again next winter by the old board of trustees. Ellagene Farm Aldine, Texas Price, who has been visiting in Emery, was a visitor from Price last Wednesday ' Mrs. Emma Fillmore and babe came near being victims of an accident last Thursday morning when coming into town from Lawrence, when she and babe were thrown from the buggy she was driving. She was accompanied by her little sister. None were seriously injured. William Wallace Willey of Bountiful, 74 years of age, the father of A. B. Willey, former teacher in the E. S. A., died Wednesday afternoon at a Salt L ke hospital. Mr. Willey was born at Green Plains, 111., in 1S41 and started across the plains for Utah when 10 years old. He was employed for forty years in the building of the temple. He saw service in the Blackhawk Indian war under General Wells and Colonel Winder. Mr. Willey is survived by seventeen children, nine daughters and eight sons, all of whom make th'-ir homes in Utah. Archer left for his father's bedside last Tuesday evening and was therefore present at his death. The county school board as named by the county commissioners a month ago will present their bonds for approval at Monday's meeting of the board of county commissioners, after which they will proceed to organize.
