feel are necessary the first train to roll into the depot was the malad express which had several extra coaches attached to it all loaded to the steps and people standing blanding la in the aisles that train had bad scarcely disgorged dis gorged its precious freight when the salt late lake special of thirteen cars pulled in and as tho the crowd began to swarm out ont of the coaches like bees out of a hive it ws was evident that the perfect day and the great reputation of the occasion was waa going to draw as many visitors as ever before the cache valley express arrived a few minutes later pulling six extra cars making nine in all and the people were sitting bitting and standing on the steps there were so many on an board thirty minutes later thin the regular bute express frodi salt a lake arrived bringing moro more people ard aad forest street was a stream of humanity on both sides from tho the depot to main while hundreds went into the park where the festivities were scheduled to come off As the trains arrived and the people de trained the brigham Afflit military ary band all the members dressed in spanking new uniforms dispensed lively music which put the visitors in a condition to enjoy the spirit of the occasion A band from ogden also made its appearance and helped materially to enliven things the pr program printed in last weeks issue and in the official program which was circulated had to be changed somewhat governor spry was away in the southern part of the state and hon W J bryin could not make connections so BO as to be in this city so their places were sup supplied blied by hou hon J francis merrill who said some good things about brigham generally the various entertainments of the day were a big success tho the japanese fencing contest was interesting and thrilling the swedish dancers were popular and they appeared twice during the day to the delight of the tha thousands who craned crane their netka tr it watch them the bill ball b ill continuous inu show all day and evening the warm sunshine helped the confectionery people also and enabled them to iapoce of their wares in the evening tho the dancing academy and opera house were well patronized with young people who enjoyed dancing but the musical concert given vy oy mr and mrs willard andelin in the third ward chapel was poorly attended tho the program redo rendered bcd was one of rare merit bring being made up of a variety of vocal and instrumental selections in which tho the artists had a splendid opportunity to display they ability the singing of mr andelin was waa exceptionally pleasing ills ilia basso voice was never mover hoard board to better advantage and as aa he got down on tho the lower register the deep resonant sonant ro tones tonea rolled out with magnificent clearness attesting truely tho the fact that he Is one of tho the greatest basses on the stage today the work ot of mrs andelin as accompanist and piano soloist was no less pleasing and striking in character and the result was waa that those who listened to the program enjoyed a veritable musical foist feast the city was properly decked out for tho the occasion too all the light poles from the depot to main street anufrom and from first north to third S south ou th on main were decorated with peach mach colors and flags while many of 0 the business houses were decorated with the national colors clors and pink and green streamers in honor of P peach each day tho the crowd kept coming all day long over the electric road by automobile and carriages and the oty city was some town many people came to visit relatives and friends and almost every dionio homo in the city entertained several guests the day passed off as pleasantly as the most sanguine could expect and there is
