Show ORE BELIEVED TO tic i.UH IN POTASH H. S. Loveless of Huntington, who has been interested in some mineral deposits de-posits i i the San Rafael country lor some time, would seem to have found something which is being sought all over the country and to work which .here is almost unbounded capital available avail-able if it is found that it can be worked j to commercial advantage. The ore is declared to be alunite and j contains potash and alum the minerals which have put the little town of Mary-vale Mary-vale on the miner.il map of the United States. Already over a million dollars have been invested in mining the Marys-vale Marys-vale product and still government and j private scientists are looking for an ad- I ditional supply. Should the claims of Mr. Loveless turn out as expected Emery county can confidently expect a like influx of capital with corresponding correspond-ing good results. The claims are located about 10 miles above the San Rafael britlge and the deposit is said to be several feet thick and approximately a square mile in area. Mr. Loveless sent to Marysvale for a sample of the ore being mined there and is understood to have said that, if the ore submitted was an average sample of the Marysvale desposit, his ore had that from Sevier beat out of sight for potash content. Since the war the supply of potash formerly securid from Germany has been cut off and therefore the huge demand for it. So far as known Utah I is the oulv place where the potash oc- I curs in the form of ore. |
