Junius and Kenneth Munk leftyester-day leftyester-day for Idaho. The funeral of Mrs. Robert Braith-waite Braith-waite was held yesterday afternoon. A move is on foot in Ephraim to institute a new bank there, the stock to be taken in small amounts and to be kept among the farmers, as much as possible. The city constructed a gravel walk from the postoffice across Main street to the public square this week, a work that will be much appreciated, especially by students from the schools. Mrs. Ray Stringham went to Salt Lake Sunday. She was accompanied by her mother, Mrs. Martha Watt. Mrs Stringham will visit in Layton before returning. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Peacock of Orangeville, Emery county, are guests at the Burns home. Mrs. A. L. Bowden has been visiting in Salt Lake a couple of weeks. Mrs. Walt Hoggan received word of the death of her mother at Richfield I Tuesday, Mrs. Hoggan is seriously ill and cannot attend the funeral. Alex Tennant, Jr., was a Salt Lake visitor Wednesday. The, Ephraim commercial club is keeping in view the little things that I help make up a city. At their last meeting they petitioned the mayor to appoint a day for the public to clean the streets. They also appointed a committee to confer with the council in the interest of organizing a brass band. Marriage licenses were issued the past week by County Clerk Olsen to the following couples: Willbim R Young and Belle Savage of Coyote, Garfield county; Arthur F. Rasmusseri and Jennie Peel, Mt. Pleasant; Franklin Frank-lin Manwill and Mary A. Sorenson of Koosharem, Samuel Porter of Central, Sevier county, and Laura Winder of Fairview. The two last named were deaf and dumb. W. B. Lowry and family left the first of the week for their new home in Idaho. A baby girl was born to Mrs. Nephi Bessey, March the 11th. . Nielson to Greeii River for a few days. j Mrs. Phoebe Sanders Jones, who left Fairview with her parents for Arizona about 30 years ago, is visiting in this city. I Arthur Porter of Monroe and- Sarah Winder of Fairview were married in the Manti Temple Wednesday. The , young people of Fairview gave them a bundle shower a few evenings before they left. The evening was spent in games and other amusements, after which a nice lunch was served. I Ephraim Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Mayhew delightfully delight-fully entertained a number of their relatives Sunday evening on their silver wedding anniversary. An elaborate" dinner was served and Mr. and Mrs. Mayhew were the recipients of several beautiful presents. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Whitlock and daughter, Lucrean, are visiting relatives i in Mayfield. j The farmers' and stockmen's asso- ciatioh of this county held its annual ! election of officers in the local opera j house last Saturday afternoon aud discussed several business matters. Among these were the question of grazing on the range at Twelve Mile and Willow Creek. All of the former 'officers were reelect ed. The contract for constructing the proposed amusement hall at Aurora 1 has been awarded to P. L. Brienholt & Sons of this city. Ovitt Nielson of Mt. Whiting Wednesday evening in I honor of Mr. Whiting's anniversary. Mr. and Mra. Alfred Bailey entertained entertain-ed Thursday evening in honor of the anniversary of the birth of thir daughter, daugh-ter, Carrie. Mr. and Mrs. Royal Peterson gave an enjoyable party Thursday evening, on the anniversary of Mr. Peterson's birth.
