Show ORANGEVILLE There has been very pleasant weather of late, with gentle rains to prepare the ground for spring plowing, and the husbandman has reason to rejoice at the encouraging prospects for spring work. The farmers and stockman of Orangeville Orange-ville are enthusiastic over the organization organiza-tion of the Cottonwood creek agricultural agricul-tural and stockmen's association for the twin cities. Such a move promotes the work of all interested, and in union there is strength. It was found nec?ssiry to remove Miss Guila Moffitt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Wm. M-ffitt, to the hospital at Provo, Utah, Sunday last. They feared an operation would have to be effected, but we are pleased to state that the last news has been very flattering flat-tering indeed, and there is great hope . that the operation may be avoided. Donald, the little son of Mr. and Mrs. John Cox, met with a very narrow escape in a pole falling on his head and cutting a gash. He is doing very nicely however. The 70th anniversary of the Relief society organization was creditably celebrated on the 17th and an old time dance was given the night of the 18th. Wm. H. Jewkes, Jr., has bought the Bert Hadfield home and has taken possession. pos-session. Mr. Del Peacock is exciting the curiosity of the entire town by"moving his fence on the surveyed line. It shows that many are twisted and the sooner they straighten up the better for the looks of the town in general. The Academy ball team played the local team with a sc jre of 8 to 2 in favor of the Academy. Our range rider Mr. Frank Cox and family were surprised by their friends Sunday night. Mr. Cox has been called to Mt. Pleasant for duty and they left for there new quarters Tuesday. A crowd of sheep shearers started for Vernal the last of the week. |
