Show DEMOCRATS 8EN9 DELEGATES I TO PROVO CONVENTION As per call the democrats of Em-tv j oo.mty met at the court house at '2 jj o'clock p. m. on Tuesday the l:iih an 1 selected their ten delegates to th st I'e convention at Provo Thursday the 15 h V The meeting was called to order by js chairman B. F. Luke and tlv call read by Secretary Williams. By motion B. F. Luke was retained as chairman and it Nephi L. Williams as seeretarr. By f motion of J. W. Nixon, seconded by Jasper Robertson; the election of a county chairman and secretary was put g off until the county nominating conven- t tion. A letter from Jesse Knight to J. W. f Nixon was read in which he urged the democrats to stand together for state- i wide prohibition. I The election of delegates to the state convention was then taken up and the I following elected: ! Wm. Howard, Huntington , I B. F. Luke, Orangeville j J. W. Nixon, Huntington ! j, C. E. Larsen, Castledale ; I Andrew Anderson, Orangeville I Jasper Robertson, Orangeville E. H. Cox, Huntington l Ne.'hi L. Williams, Castledale Carlos Woodward, Huntington I Lewis Oveson, Cleveland E The following were elected as alter- nates: j E. L. Geary, Huntington 1 1 Ira R. Browning, Castledale j i Ole N. Tuft, Lawrence Wyatt Bryan, Ferron - P Moved by Wm. Howard and seconded I by all present that the delegation be in- f structed to vote, work and fight, if ! necessary, for a prohibition plank in J the state platform. By motion of E. H. Cox the delegates ! who attend convention were empowered j to vote the full strength of the delega- j tion. i 7 Moved by Nixon and seconded by E. ! f H. Cox and carried that the delegat'on be instructed to vote for a plank favor- I r inr a public utilities commission. 1 1 By motion of Jasper Robertson the time of holding the county nominating j convention was left with the central ; committee. j By motion the delegates were pro- t vided with badges on pink ribbon for : i, the occasion. j I |
