Show NEW WATER COMPANY ON INDEPENDENT FLAT The Emery County Land and Water company with holdings at Rochester has been reorganized under the name of the Independent Canal a id Reservoir company. com-pany. D. M. Whitney. L. C. Moore, E. A. Wedgewood, G. A. Iverson and Joseph F. Stevens, Jr., will constitute the board of directors. The company has twelve thousand acres of land. In the sprine of 1904 the ditch to take water out of Muddv Creek on the north side was started. The company fieured on building reservoirs to store sufficient water for Tie needs of the ditch and the primary rights to the stream were vested vest-ed in a small ditch on the north side. For the past six years the ditch has gone ahead but the company on the north side of the creek has been continually con-tinually fightintr with the Emerv County Land and Water companywhich owned j thp canal south of the creek. The suit, brought by the Independent -. Canal and Rfscrvior company acainst I the Emery County Land and Water; company was settled last fall. By the i agreement the Emery county .company received a bare ma jority of the stock in the Independent ,co.mpany, so that a di-! i vision of the water mav be arrived at. : About the town of Rochester which is ! I on Independent Flat fhere are twenty-i two thousand acres of excellent land, a greater part of which land is a sandy i loam with a southern slope.
