Show I ECG QUESTION CAUSING ANXIETY IN STATE At a meeting of the state pure food j bureau, held last week in the offices of Willard Hansen, state dairy and food 'commissioner, the question of regula'-i regula'-i ing the condition an I sale of eggs wai j discussed. Many complaints have been j received recently by the commissioner j that dozens of spoiled eggs were being j sold on the market as fresh eggs. The j responsibility for this condition was charged by the bureau to the practice 1 of farmers and poultrymen of holding the eggs for high prices. In order to warn those responsible, the bureau decided to adopt a form of placard issued by the Kansas state j board of health on which the warning j and penalties for violation are printed ;.in large letters. These placards will be ! posted in conspicuous daces about the rural districts an 1 in the produce houses and markets. Section 73G, paragraph 7, of the State pure food regulations of Utah, relating to the sale of eggs, will be printed on the card, and in addition the board voted vot-ed to adopt a paragraph printed on the Kansas card which reads: "The sale, or keeping for sale, or offering for sale of tainted or mtten eggs is prohibited" A paragraph will also be included to the effect that dealers must candle all eggs received for sale. |
