Show ORANGEV5LLE A number of our citizens have taken advantage of the conference rates ard left for the Capitol. Bishop Robertson and wife have gone to visit friends in Sunnyside. He thinks an out will be beneficial for his health. Miss Maggie Sitterud has bpen quite low with an attack of typhoid fever, but she is now on the improve siowly. The day of prayer for peace proclaimed pro-claimed by President Wilson was observed ob-served last Sabbath by the people of this place. The speakers all spoke on the horrors of war and its results, and some of them had been participants in the horrors of such strife. Emery county did herself proud in the jood showing at the Carbon-Emery fair at Price, and Orangeville carried off its share of prizes in all departments depart-ments and some of their products were chosen to take to the state fair. Emerv county could have a fair of its own if . the people generally would take the interest in-terest that the few did who were ex-hibitorst ex-hibitorst Everything was good with the one exception of the midway which was a fake and as soon as that was found out it was suspended. A great many were disappointed in seeing nothing from the E. S. A. and other schools of the county hung up for inspection. in-spection. Carbon schools were well represented in all departments. Some of the horse races were fakes but the people always look for those things more or less. The board of directors deserve praise for the able manner -in which everything was carried through and especially R. H. Stewart, our county coun-ty demonstrator, who seemed to take especial interest to see that everything was just right, and that all were satisfied satis-fied it goes without saying. a |
