The first explosion took place it the steel and concrete vaults of th( Pain company's building in whict $5,000 worth of fireworks wer stored. The vaults were supposed t be fireproof and to be able to with stand any explosion, but were blowi to atoms. djoining office building: were shaken and damaged. Man persons were injured by broken glasi and by being trampled. The explosion, it was thought might have been caused by a sparV from wiring which Johnson, the deac electrician, was adjusting. |
