Ice cream and cake were served and a short program pro-gram rendered. Remember the sale next week at Huntington Co-op. Brass and iron beds, springs, and mattresses. All kinds of steel ranges from $30.00 up, also a large line of harness, saddles, and bridles. brid-les. In fact anything you want. You can save money by buying at the Huntington Hunt-ington Co-op next week. A large number of Primary workers were visitors in Ferron last Saturday and Sunday, in attendance at Primary convention held there. Castledale was very well represented and offered two selections at the afternoon program. Misses Wall and Larsen rendered a duet and Miss Leona Douglass gave a piano selection. Miss (that was) May Elder made a trip to Cokeville, Wyo., last week, returning re-turning last Thursday. Mr. Alec Pet-tey Pet-tey is located up in that country now, and it is up to our readers to figure out the rest. We give up this delving into the troubles of the local switch-bo nd in desnair. There are too many funny calls come in. Mr. DeVere Childs assisted in the Emery County Hardware Store the latter lat-ter part of the week, taking the place, we presume(?), of Mart Anderson who suddenly made a trip to Mt. Pleasant in the wake of the Seely's. Needless to say, one of the lady clerks who has been indisposed was ba; k "on the job." The regular county teachers examination exami-nation took place at the district school building Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Satur-day of this week with ten teachers in attendance at the same. They were J. W. Roberts of Green River; Clem Christensen of Lawrence; Alice Lamp! and T. S. Johnson of Castledale; Fred Reid, DeVere Childs, and Belle Fox ol Orangeville; Lois Fugate, Lillian Rasmus-ion, and Irene Killpack of Ferron. Misses Lois Fugate and Lillian Ras-mussen Ras-mussen favored us with a call Thursday and in "seeing how it was done," Miss Fugate caught sight of a spoiled sheet of uaper. A blush immediately suf-sused suf-sused her face and they made a hasfcl ' retreat. Upon examination, we foun( ' the hoodooed piece of paper to be but i a license a mere town license at that, j the product of our job department. But why the blush? The town is practically devoid of Seey's this week, the Dale having contributed nearly all of that name residing re-siding here to the big reunion being held at Mt. Pleasant in honor of the fiftieth anniversary of the birth of William, Joseph, Jo-seph, Stewart, and Eva R. Seely of Mt. Pleasant, all of whom either have just reached or will soon pass that milestone We have been the victim of many a t'ark look the latter part of the week from one of our typos, Miss Anna Wood, who, on the morning of the departure de-parture of the Seelys for the big reunion re-union in Mt. Pleasant, was thrown from a horse which she had been experimenting ex-perimenting upon to see if the same 1 were safe for George to tickle on thj ride over the mr-intaii. Tas a;:ident might have resulted worse, but as it is she is now favoring us with har ji'.'y presence, looking a little worse for he: little escapade but happy in the knowledge know-ledge of HIS return next week. In the contest for G3lle33 of Liberty, Liber-ty, it would seem that Mi Olei Diy has the clear track as sha was yesterday yester-day so far ahead of her mext rivi!. Miss Leonia Seely, that it seiiu sire of her winning out. They stood yesterday, yester-day, Olea, 2100; Lsonia, 13)3. It is understood that Mrs. Coleman refusal to act as a candidate as dii Mrs. Hector Hec-tor Evans, who was also namad a ago. |
