Show I J (Continued from first page) E. S. A. NOTES We have had the privilege of listening to remarks from several visiting parents the past week. Brother Tuft of Lawrence Law-rence gave us some very good thoughts one of which was, ''many bovs are sent here as diamonds in the rough and we as parents expect them to be polished" He pointed out many instances where rough, wild boys with a "don't care" bearing about them, had been sent to school. After being there awhile they begin to have a degree of confi lence in themselves, straightening up, throwing their shoulders back and having a refined re-fined appearance. Bro. Henry Oviatt of Cleveland was also a visitor. He stated, among many other things, that one can travel around the world without really taking tne ex- I pensive trip. Right here in school is where we trav. I. Each day we go so far in our books, viewing different sights, and even getting more out of the wonders than we would if we actually went there, because we have the assistance as-sistance of a good guide, (the author,) whj leads and explains things to us. Every student shouU be thankful for the opportunities he nas ine privilege of gaining in the school. Bio. Wall greeted us with his always pleasant smile Thursday morning. He always has something .io i to tell us. He contrasted our school now with what it wo wh.-ii Prof. Jamison started it. He Baiu it scarie.j in Castledale, the sessions bang ndlj tae upjtiir pirt of C. E. Larson's He said, Bro. Maeser nad called it the acorn out of wnich a massive oak was to grow. The oak, we know, is a very slow tree in growth, but rinaiiy it oecomcs the king of all trees so it is with the school. All we ask i. lor pa. ents and people to come nad see what our school is to-day. They cm judge ior themselves whether the school nas grown or not. First seme.-lerenus Saturday January 20, iyj.2.
