Show Airj 1 2v VILS, C FAvtF . u' Obituaries Roy F. Tygesen F. Tygesen, 78, a prominent Magna attorney, died Wednesday, October 21, after a long illness. He was bom December 12, 1902, in Richfield, Sevier County, Utah, to Anton J. AND Inger Marie Busk Tygesen. The family moved to Arthur, Utah, where Mr. Tygesen graduated from the L.D.S. High School. A graduate of the University of Utah, the University of Chicago Law School in 1928, and Chicago Kent College of Law, Mr. Tygesen was associated with the criminal courts in Chicago for three years as an employee of the Chicago Crime ComRoy mission. He returned to Salt Lake City, where he practiced law. He later practiced privately in Magna the remainder of his life. He was a member of both the Illinois and Utah state bars. He married Annie Andrus June 10, 1931. He was a member of The ChurSainch of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y ts. He served in the Northern States Mission. He was known for his service in civic organizations and helped develop the Magna water company, sewer system, school building and development, and tailings control from Kennecott waste. He formed the Magna mosquito abatement district and was responsible for many zoning laws and ordinances pertaining to the town of Magna. Because of his achievements and lifetime devotion to community service, he was affectionately referred to as "Magnas Mayor." He was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, and Lions Club and helped organize and develop the Magna Town Council, which he charted and served as executive secretary for 20 years. He is survived by sons J. Penroy (Las Vegas), and Roy F. Jr. (West Valley City); daugthers Mrs. Verl (RoyAnne) Newbold (Holladay) and Mrs. Walter (Laura-Tony- ) (Hollywood, California); and two-gredchildren; Klein 17 gran- at Funeral services were held Saturday, October 24. Burial was in Elsinore City Cemetery. Van Valkenburg F. KEARNS Floyd Wesley 33, died October 24. He July 1, 1928, in Union, was bom Utah. He married Dariene Pedersen November 19, 1934, in Sandy. Survivors include his wife (Kearns); children Wesley R. (Woods Cross, Utah); Lesley A. (Salt Lake City), Mrs. Michael (Ariene) Spencer (Kearns); Clitton W. (Midvale); and seven grandchildren. Graveside services were held Tuesday, October 27, at the Sandy City Cemetery. Rhea H. Cravens Rhea Hales Cravens, 77, of Salt Lake City, died October 23, 1981, at the home of a son. She was born September 23, 1904, in Riverside, Utah, to George R. and Kate Kennard Hales. She married James Lloyd Cravens November 10, 1928 in Bountiful. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Mr. Cravens died "October 12, 1975. She was an active member of the Cottonwood 10th Ward and a retired nurse for L.D.S. Hospital. Personal Notes Marine Pfc. Jim D. Ruesck, son of David J. Ruesch and Carma Stockton, both of 5007 W. 4130 S., Hunter, has complete recruit training at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot in San Diego. He participated in an active physical conditioning program and gained proficiency in a variety of military skills, including first aid, rifle drill, marksmanship, and dose-orddrill. During the six weeks at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, the airman studied the Air Force mission, organization, and customs and received special training in human relations. He is a 1981 graduate of Kearns n; er Hiah School. Navy Electronics Technician 2nd Class Tad B. Wimmer, son of Frank and Nevia M. Tipton of 2941 S. 8950 W. Magna, recently returned from the Western Pacific and the Indian Ocean. Hess, will advise Hatch of their opinions and concerns in meetings with him and by responding to surveys on various national issues. The committee will alsq provide its members with insights into Congress and national government.
