"'4 'i The Kanab Cowboys defense played a pretty good game last Friday, as there was plenty of gang tackling like the picture above. Defensive back Blake Doss made the biggest play of the first half, picking off a pass on the goal line and running it back to the 25. Defensively, the Cowboys were led by nose guard Andy McFadden with 12 tackles and a forced fumble. Sophomore linebacker Kelly Brown also had 12 takedowns, while lineman Scott Brown registered 10. Defensive end Tad Casebolt also had a big game causing two forced fumbles, getting one sack and adding nine tackles. The other defensive end Casey Mackleprang, came up with one forced fumble, one sack and five tackles. Middle linebacker Robert Hansen had eight tackles, while comerback Cody Brunner had six stops including a team high five solos. Brunner was also kept busy punting, as he kicked nine in the game. Sophomore standout Mace Glazier broke the tibia in his right leg and will be out 4-- 6 weeks. This Friday the Cowboys travel to Richfield with a 7 p.m. kickoff. Richfield is new to our region this year, coming down from 3A because of declining enrollment. They were defeated by Gunnison last Friday evening 13-Top ranked Millard routed their second 3A opponent in as many weeks, as they clobbered Cedar City 47 7. The Kanab junior varsity squad picked up a win in their first game of the year on Thursday, downing the Moapa Valley Pirates on their home field by the score of 28-6. Junior quarterback J.R.
