Limited to one letter per person per month. ms PTA thanks Dear Editor: As we start the new school year, I would like to recognize the local businesses who have donated goods and funds to the Kanab Middle School PTA . First of all, thanks to Neil Haynes of State Bank and Kim Lawson of Zions Bank for their being such a great 2000-200- 1 Queen and for all the work she did in helping and encouraging the girls who competed this year. I also would like to thank the judges who did a tremendous job and for the tinfe they spent with the girls and the encouraging comments they made. A thank you to Jason Bundy for his job as Master of Ceremonies. He spent hours working with everyone to make the pageant run smoothly. donations. PTA President Did you know Dear Editor: 20 years ago less than 5 of children with Leukemia and other blood related cancers survived. Today over 80 survive thanks to ongoing research. Leukemia research has made a huge difference and is considered the window to the treatment of all cancers. Kelly Johnson is running a marathon in January of 2002 in order to raise $3000.00 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of America. The good news is you dont have to run the 26.2 miles. Simply come to Honeys Jubilee on Saturday, September 1, 2001 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 is p.m. and give generously-thi- s a worthy cause and when there finally is a cure for cancer, we can all say we made a difference. Many thanks, Dani Scanland Asta Battista Fair thanks Dear Editor: On behalf of the Northern Arizona Fair, I would like to congratulate the six young women who competed for Northern Arizona Fair Queen. I would like to thank each girl for the time and effort they put into preparing for and performing at the pageant. All did an excellent job. I would also like to thank them for the service projects they did. These projects were of great benefit to the community. Pageant the same system and the Dear Editor: This is the time of year when the bullheads come out like a carpet. I know that some bullhead seeds from one plant will sprout each year for eight years, but we cant get rid of them if we do not start sometime. Ifthe Town willspraythe streets and if each of the citizens will scrutinize their own yards and dig up every plant by the roots and carry it and its seeds carefully to the garbage can, then the bullheads will be fewer every year. It will help insure that the seeds do not come back in your yard, if you help with the ones in High School GolfTeam.
