Kane County Sheriff Lamont Smith and Chief Deputy Tracy Glover stopped the vehicle in Kanab. The lone occupant of the vehicle was driver Marcello Pino of Phoenix. But law enforcement had been told that there were three people in the Blazer. Pino was questioned and admitted there had been two other males with him, which he had dropped off on the sands north of Kanab. Pino took Sergeant Roger Cutler, Sheriff Smith and Deputy Glover to the hiding spot where they were apprehended. Jose Castillo Espenoza and Fonso Del Rio were arrested and charged with felony drug distribution charges. An attempt to apprehend the intended Salt Lake buyer failed. All four men are currently enjoyingthe ambiance oftheKane County jail until arraignment.
