A special presentation was made to Gary and LeeAnne in honor of their son Micheal, who was killed in an accident last November. Girls basketball coach Hal Hamblin received a standing ovation when he was named the Coach of the Year. After over 20 years of coaching the boys, he took over the helm of the girls program and led them to a third place finish at the state touma- ment. With only one senior graduating, he is lookingfor even bigger things next year. The Fan of the Year award was presented to the Big Guy, Ted Atherley, for his support of all Kanab athletics. A memory video put together by teacher Jeff Fleshman and some of his students was shown while boosters dined on a delicious chicken fried steak dinner Vice-Chairma- n, provided by Houstons. coach Jeff introFleshman was the first to duce his team. He chose Amanda Cooper as the top offensive player, Heather Bistline as the defensive player of the year, and Kortni Shelley as his top server, Head football coach Rod Quarnberg introduced Kyle Brunner as the offensive MVP, while he named Matt Pepper and Josh Blasdell as defensive Volleyball co-MV- Rodeo advisor Dixie Mecham introduced her team of Brooke Mecham, Heath Clark, Andrea LaCorti, Justin Crandall and Jacob Crandall as qualifiers for the state rodeo championships. Girls basketball coach Hal Hamblin named Amanda Cooper as the girls MVP. Boys basketball coach KLint Glover presented basketballs to all five of his seniors instead of choosing a top offensive and defensive player. Seniors Josh Blasdell, Lance Brown, Kyle Brunner, Matt Pepper and T.J. Petersen were honored. Wrestling coach Larry Clarkson named freshman Chris Gaudette as the lower weight MVP and sophomore Josh Douglass as his upper weight MVP. He is also looking for big things next year with most of his team returning. Cheer advisor Carolyn and Camille Mosdell as her most valuable band members. Girls softball coach Jolene Wa-ter- s named Stephanie Brinkerhoff as the top offensive player and catcher Morgan Win-th- e Chester as the best defensive player. She also awarded Chelsea Hutchings as the est player and Allison Mathis as the most inproved. Golf coach Curt Hawkins in- troduced senior Kyle Brunner as his medalist. He also predirti-McDona- ld sented Brunner with his scorecards from every one of his matches for the last four years, The team finished fourth in the state tournament after winning Fotball coach Rod Quamberg introduced his whole team, then named the region title for the fourth defensive side Matt Pepper and Josh Blasdell were selected as consecutive year, Baseball coach Mike Walker named catcher Matt Pepper as his MVP. Josh Blasdell was named the defensive player of the year, while James Narramore and Sam Noel shared the offensive player award. T. J. Track coach Ken Brown named sophomore Mace Glazier as the boys MVP and frosh Samantha Hamblin the girls MVP for their finishes in the state tournament. Glazier took first in the high jump and Hamblin second in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles.
