The Yankees scored two runs in their half of the inning to climb back on top, 5 to 4. Neither team scored in the third inning. In the fourth, the Diamondbacks used base hits by Derek Johnson, Kacey Simmons back a nd Randy Allen to t ks -- see-sa- on top, w to 5. The Yankees put the game away in the bottom of the fourth inning. They scored eight runs on four hits, three singles and a double. Four walks and two errors on the Diamondbacks helped their cause. The Yanks added two more in the fifth to lead 15 to 7 with the coming up for their last at bat. They managed to cut that eight run lead in half, but their rally came up four runs short. Final score, 15 to 11 in favor of the Yankees. At the plate Kacey Simmons went 3 for 3, with two doubles and a single. Randy Allen slugged two doubles in three at bats.
