It was a lovely experience. Being a runner, I decided to enter the Mothers Day 10K before leaving on Saturday morning. What a great time we had. I want to thank everyone connected with the race, the pasta dinner and the town. Participating in the race really added a personal touch to an already wonderful experience visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon. Shortly thereafter, he calls Thanks himself; so, yes, he has found a part of himself. How could that be? Didnt Grandma tell me howmuch Aunt Edith loved me? How could she do that when she died before I was born? It must have been how much she would have loved me if she had lived. As a youngster, I must have left out the part. We have felt a tremendous outpouring of love since Daddys surgery in September. He appreciated all who took time to stop by and visit him, and offer expressions of encouragement. Words somehow seem inadequate when it comes to thanking the Skilled Nursing Unit Staff at Kane County Hospital. They not only cared for Daddy, they showed a genuine interest in the familys cares & concerns regarding him, also. Dr. Vermeesch was very attentive and was willing to do all in her power to keep him comfortable. Ted Atherley was a friend showed. Its hard to thank Dennis and Jeff Mosdell enough.. .they are so professional and caring for the needs of all concerned when a loved one passes away. The LDS 5th & 8th Wards were wonderful in their compassionate service. We appreciated the nursery, help with the flowers and the luncheon which followed the services. We thank all who lessened our grief by sharing your memories through cards, letters and poetry. Once again youve made us thankful we call Kanab home. Flowers and people everywhere and many are children. Somehow. the children belong here as much as the flowers. How come they belong when this is a cemetery? Well, first of all, this isnt a dead place. Its a place of memories, and of families. Its a timeline of one generation following another. A tradition, an affir- mation. A belonging. A celebration. Its Good bye and a Hello. When a child is brought to his grandmas grave, his parents tell him, You were only a baby, but she loved you so. The knowledge of this love comes to life within the child, and years later, it will be there to comfort and reassure him as he travels down lonely roads: My grandma loved me so.
