Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS Opinion WEDNESDAY MARCH 14, 2001 Life is hectic and too often we don't take time to show or express appreciation to those we work with. Dennis and I would like to thank the staff of the Southern Utah News . We appreciate the wonderful pictures and stories Myrna Cox provides. She has a rare gift of photographing her subjects in a way which brings out their unique per- sonalities. Carol Sullivan and Rachel Tueller provide us with the news. They both work hard to provide accurate news reporting. They also deserve extra credit since they often take the heat for the SUN's (very) opinated editor. Receptionist Sharlotte Brewer can sell a subscription, type a press release, take a classified. ..and still watch her afternoon soap, all in a single bound! She's a hard worker who especially enjoys her job on the (more than) occasional Friday that Dennis and I take off. It takes a lot of time and effort to produce a newspaper, and no one knows that better than our sales production manager Michael Evangelista. To say he is an asset to the newspaper is simply an understatement. He is bright, and an employee most anyone would kill for. (But leave him alone-he'- s ours!) Thanks to the SUN staff for their loyalty and everything that they do to make us look good. While awards are nice to receive, the real satisfaction comes from working with such wonderful, high quality people. hard-workin- g, Letters to the Editor What is your opinion? First I would like to say that I am not one of Senator Ed Maynes cabin owning buddies, dont even know him. I, like most of my cabin owning buddies are willing to pay our fair share of I property taxes. However, would like to point out that most of the property taxes go to maintain the schools, and as second residences we do not impact the schools at all. Also many of these cabins are on roads that are not maintained by the county, so we receive no benefit in that regard. So, to summarize, we receive very little in return for our taxes, although we pay a premium because they are not oiir primary residences. I just wanted to point out that there is more than one side to any argument.
