Mrs. Glover told the council that the committee had received a bid from the architectural firm of Valentiner Crane of Salt Lake City for a feasibility study on the proposed new swimming pool. Public 3 WEDNESDAY MAY 10, 2000 hearing-Possibl- e preparation of recreation grant from the State of Utah: A motion was made by Bamson to go into a public hearing to solicit from the audience suggestions for possible recreation projects the city could consider when applying for grant funds from the State of Utah. The motion was seconded by Crawford. Motion passed unanimously and the public hearing was opened to the audience for their suggestions. Mayor Alvey told the audience that funding could be applied for under the Outdoor Recreation Matching Grant program, requiring the city match with cash or d labor or materials the amount of the funding requested. She said there is approximately $350,000 available this year state wide. Sutanna Glover again asked the council to apply for a grant for $13,000 for the feasibility study for the proposed new indoor swimming pool being studied by the Kanab City in-kin- Swimming Pool Committee. She also stated the Kanab City Park Board would like to request the council consider applying for grant funds to solicit a feasibility study on construction of the second nine holes of the Coral Cliffs Municipal Golf Courts. She said the estimated cost of the study would be $31,000. Bamson stated she felt the city should apply for grant funds to upgrade both the Kanab City Park and the Kanab Creek Rancho City Park. She stated she felt the parks needed new playground equipment and the restroom facilities needed to be upgraded. She felt the cost of such a project would be approximately $12,000. After some discussion, a motion was made by Bamson to apply for grant funds for all three suggested projects. Motion was seconded by Crawford. A roll call vote went as follows: yes Coleman.
