Christens Durham, Chairperson of the Huntsman Awards for Excellence in Education, today announced the availability of nomination forms for the year 2000 Awards Each year the Huntsman family presents a check for $10,000 and a crystal obelisk to each of ten outstanding Utah public educators: six teachers, three administrators and a volunteer. Nominations are received from throughout the State and reviewed by a board consisting of some of the States most prominent citizens and eminent educators. Fredonia ElementaryMiddle School and Moccasin Elementary had a successful back to school night. Dr. Barnson is in the process of evaluating the staff. On October 8 McGruff came to visit and talk with the students about taking things do not belong to them and fighting. The students had the opportunity to meet Officers Macias, Watson and Hammon. In the Middle School, the staff is trying to reward students who are working to stay eligible and follow the school rules. A shortterm progress report will be sent home every three weeks and a Passing Party will be held for those who are eligible.
