Show School Fredonia Moccasin Governing Board meeting SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY MARCH 24, 1999 The Governing Board met in a regular session on February 16, 1999 with the following persons present: Mr. Wayne Anderson, Mr. Don Johnson, Mr. Raymon Christensen, Mrs. Shirla Jessop and Mrs. Ila Bundy. Also present: Mr. Spencer Young, Dr. Bruce Ramson, Mrs. Donna Mrs. Mackun, Margaret Stewarti Mrs. Michelle Heath, Mr. Heath and Mr. Ron Johnson. Public Comment member has been hired to patrol the halls and parking lot for the remaining games. The program has ended and the Final results will be available shortly. The winning play was set in an 1830s household of a Quaker widower. The students spoke in thees and thous as they portrayed the story of a family at a turning point. Anna, the housekeeper, (portrayed by Julie Wilcox), has been with the family since the youngest was just a babe in arms. She has had trouble with her eyes and suddenly goes blind. The widower, (portrayed by Dwayne Rennels), is worried for her well being and decides the best thing to do is put her in the group home to be cared for. He calls his children together, to seek their support and unity in this action. Most agree only because they respect their father. Charity (portrayed by Andrea Crosby), thinks that he has feelings for Anna, and finally convinces father to consider the possibility .that he loves Anna and should .ask her to marry him. Peter, the oldest son, is portrayed by Aaron Stevens. Hope, the oldest daughter, by Tammy Branson. Chris Branson also brought home the award for Best Supporting Actor and Andrea Crosby brought home the award for Best Supporting Actress. Our set won an award as well. Directors Linda Alderman and Rebecca Winchester are very pleased with the outcome. We and the cast thank our costume designer, Debbie Judd, for her assistance and for sharing her expertise with us; to our support crew - Joy Tait on technical, and stage crew Drue Kegel & Ashley Howells. Way to go KHS Drama. You took Kanab High School to first place in region competition.
