His love was trapping. He's known all over the country as Trapper John. John and Betty started the Utah Trappers Association. He was the first President, and Betty was one of the first members. They both were lifetime members of the Utah Trappers Association, the Arizona Trappers Association, and the National Trappers Association. John and Betty touched many lives in their ventures. They have three children: Ron, Sandy, and Wayne and seven Walter. Plans are being made and practice for the chorus begins September 16. The rehearsals have been moved to Wednesday night, 8:00 p.m., at the Kanab High School music room, hoping to accommodate as many singers as possible. As in the past, everyone in the Moccasin, Long Valley, and Kanab areas who would like to join the chorus are invited. The oratorio, which is moderately challenging to singers will again be directed by Kourtney Stirling. There are many long time members of the chorus who have learned the music, so it is not difficult for new members to pick up the music by singing along with them. The chorus is the rehearsals are relaxed and fun, and the December presentation is inspirational for patrons, the orchestra and the singers. Handels Messiah is a musical account of the ancient prophecies of the birth of Jesus Christ, of his life, mission, death, resurrection, and of the final triumph of the Savior. It sets the tone for the Christmas season. The program will be at the Kanab High School auditorium, December 13, 7:00 p.m., with no charge for admission. The orFre-doni- al, chestra will accompany the Panguitch chorus December 6 and the Hurricane chorus December 12. Members' of the Kanab chorus will be invited to sing with the Panguitch and Hurricane choruses, if you would like to. Kanab singers have sung at Panguitch the last several years.
