You cannot fool Mother Nature. The two brothers decided to challenge the elements, entering the Paria BLM trailhead as a result ofan incident involving a personal watercraft. Members of the group indicated Homme and another male friend left the campsite on a personal watercraft some time around 12:00 midnight, September 3. Hommes friend returned to camp shortly thereafter but Homme did not follow. When Homme had not returned by 3 a.m. members of the group made a search of the area and were unable to find around 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 4. While the men had adequate warning that the water was high, and that thunderstorms were in the vicinity, they decided to proceed with their planned hike. They signed out at the Paria Canyon trailhead. We thought we could get in and out before the weather got bad, commented John.
