When you hear the loud wake-u- p blast early in the morning, jump out of bed and go to the Gazebo area (next to State Bank) for the wonderful annual breakfast by the Lions Club. They will be serving from 7 a.m. until about 9:30 a.m. At 9 a.m., there will be a short patriotic program and flag raising at the Gazebo. The parade starts at 10 a.m. Immediately followingthe parade, there will be many fun activities in State Banks parking lot and the swimming pool area. Those activities include: Dunking Booth (come dunkyour favorite person), a Water Balloon Sling Shot Contest (see who can sling it the farthest). Face painting (Tad and her great crew again), a Fish Pond (for the little ones), Cake Walk (we cant have a celebration without cakes), Baseball Speed Throw (see who can throw the g the speed with radar). Dart Throw (win some fun prizes here), a Baseball Batting Alley (see how good a hitter ya all are), the Cow Pie Classic (buy a square on the grass and see if the cow can make a pie in your square and win $200), and more! No celebration is complete fastest-clockin- without food and there will be plenty ofthat! From Navajo tacos to hamburgers, from fruit trays to candy, from pop to popcorn and lots in between. Theme: Utah's Centennial The annual Arts and Crafts Boutique is going to be just as great as always. All crafts will be displayed to- entries need to be properly decorated and all participants must abide by parade rvies. Candy tossing will be allowed but it must be done in a safe manner. Entries for judging are limited Coconino County and Mohave residents, but residents from outlying communities are invited to enter things on a display only basis. The Queen Contest will be held on Friday, August 23 at the Fredonia High School. It is a scholarship pageant open to high school juniors and se- 7 school mors for the year.
