Show School SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY MARCH 27, 1996 English 101 -- Bosnia By Mark Kabonic KHS Senior Was the United States wrong for getting involved in Bosnia? Many people think the President was in the wrong when he sent American troops to Bosnia. First, why should we risk American lives for another countrys war? Second, this will cost the taxpayers of America a lot of money. Third, the United States should not be the country which always has to get involved. The United States, as a country, is risking a lot of lives for someone elses problems. We lose enough lives fighting our own wars. We should not sacrifice lives for someone elses war. Nicole has been a member of the Choral Society since August of 1995. I love the association I get here with other singers. The potential to use and develop my talent really is outstanding. I have been very fortunate in all the opportunities I have been given to sing and I hope to have many more in the future. Nicole was a member of at Kanab High School and had lead roles in many drama productions. I always had a lot of support from Kanab High School teachers, such as McKay Shields and that has made a tremendous difference in the performer I am today. At Dixie College she was the president of the Concert Choir and a member of the Chamber Choir. She also had roles in the Spring Concert on May 18. dent and daughter of Kelly and Marcia Cooper, has been doing just that. Nicole is employed with the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce in Charlotte, North Carolina and along with four other Chamber employees, formed ati impromptu quintet to perform the National Anthem at the business organizations annual meeting in December of 1995. As luck would have it, a Charlotte Hornets talent scout was in the audience. The quintet was asked to perform their rousing rendition at the Hornets game on Thursday, March 7 at the Charlotte Coliseum. The crowd was very enthusiastic about our performance, Nicole stated, it really was a thrilling moment for all of us. Nicole is also a member of the Charlotte Choral Society, where she will be a soloist at their Dixie College musical theater program. If our country is already in debt, why should we spend money on someone elses war? It The United States should not always be the country that gets involved. Would another country come bail us out if we were in trouble; or would we be on our own? The more wars we get involved in, the more enemies we make. Every time a country gets in trouble, we should not have to be the good guys. Let someone else take care of them. It should not be us every time. Let the countries fight their own war. Too many Americans are risking their lives for somebody else. Not only lives are on the line, but also a lot of taxpayers money is being wasted. War costs the United States a lot of money. The United States should not always have to be the good guys every time a country gets in trouble. Let someone else be the good guy for a change. costs a lot of money to fight a war. It might be worth it ifit was your own war. Spending money on someone elses war, however, might not be worth it. We should make the country we are helping pay us to help them. ss Mark Kabonic A Time Youth from the Kanab Stake are practicing now for the upcoming production a A Time to Love.
