Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY MARCH 27, 1996 Opinion DM E 4 Speaks On having a heart We're proud of the way our area reacts to crisis-Sunda- y's collision east of Kanab is a good example. Law enforcement, emergency services and local people not only did an excellent job reacting to the logistics nightmare of the three person fatality-the- y went the extra mile with compassion. They visited relatives at the hospital... they kept a small child injured in the wreck overnight... they talked to and prayed with the survivors. To be kind and caring to strangers is a wonderful testament to the quality of people that this community possesses. I hope that Kanab will always be a good crisis place, and that it can be known as a community which treats one another well, and has respect for the good in other people, no matter what their background or beliefs are. When that happens, we have become a superior community and one worthy of a multitude of blessings. head-o- n Letters to the Editor What is your opinion? With gratitude Dear Editor It is with a deep sense of appreciation that we wish to thank all our friends. How gratifying it has been to receive the many wishes of condolence and expres- sions of love from all of you. The shock of the tragic loss of our son in California has been dulled by your kindness. Words can not express howyour love has helped us during this trying time. Harvey and Betty Zilm Questions commissioners encouragement Dear Editor: Enclosed is a copy of a letter sent to the Kane County Com- mission concerning their reported encouragement of a business enterprise dealing with troubled youth. The kids in these programs are not there for talking back to their parents, they are there for criminal behavior and many have longrap sheets of violent criminal activity. Regardless of where this facility is located, it is going to have a negative impact on the citizens of this county. Please tell your Commission. The Kane County School Board is concerned about the reported assurance by the Commission that, they would be happy to help as much as they were able, to support establishment of a Youth Service Program for troubled teens as proposed by Carl duff, Steve Tyson and Afton Malin.
