Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY MARCH 13, 1996 Community Obituaries Makaela Dawn Oliver Makaela Dawn Oliver was born February 25, 1996 in Salt Lakes LDS Hospital to Konni and David Oliver of Kanab, Utah. She was eagerly awaited by her parents and was much loved in her short time here with us. Makaela returned to her Heavenly Father shortly after she was baptized by her father. Makaela is survived by her par- ents, grandmothers, Joan Gibson, Kanab, Utah, and Linda Reagan of southern California, and other extended family in Kanab and California. Konnia and David wish to thank everyone that sent flowers, food and loving thoughts. It has been very comforting to know we have such wonderful friends. It has given us strength. We pray Gods peace and joy to you all. Thelma Roe Thelma Hankamer Childs Roe, age 85, died March 5, 1996 at the hospital in Kanab. She was born April 3, 1910 in Del Rio, Texas, to Clarence and Mabel Eldridge Hankamer. She was a member of the Baptist Church and of the Greenville Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening. Smith Reginald Clarence Smith, age 86, died March 3, 1996 in Kanab, Utah. He was born July 6, 1909 in Hoquiam, Washington to Andrew Clarence and Edith Barbara Barter Smith. He married Laura Frances Dews on May 19, 1943 in Tucson, Arizona. Mr. Smith was an army veteran of WWII, having served in the infantry. He served as president of the Kiwanis Club in San Diego. His hobbies were golfing and fishing. He retired as district manager for the San Diego Gas and Electric after 48 years with that company.
