Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 7. 1994 Sports 4th Annual Varsity Scout Games Cowboys sink the 54-- 0 Pirates Moapa Jeremy Brunner The Kanab Cowboys, riding By the strength of Vaughn Jacksons 3 touchdowns and yards rushing, defeated the Moapa Valley Pirates 54-last Friday night in Moapa. Also jumping on the scoring bandwagon for Kanab were Richard Daley, Benji Johnson, Bucky Orton and Yates 124 0 Wright. The Cowboys jumped out to a lead on the first possession on a 13 yard TD pass from Orton to Daley. The Pirates offense was nonexistent. Kanab soon got the ball back and Jackson scored on a 20 yard run. Next, Jackson scored from eight yards out to put the Cowboys up 21-early in the 0 second quarter. Soon after, Johnson ran it in from a yard out for a 28-- lead. The Kanab defense would still not allow Moapa to gain any yardage, forcing them to punt from deep within their own territory late 0 first half. Orton returned the punt for a 41 yard touchdown. That score made it 34-- at halftime. Assignments wrere made and it looks like another super time will be had by all those who really make the effort to attend. Awards will be given for first, second, and third places in each event.
